As part of the 2025 Summer of Plunder, Timber & Sail invited players to join a contest to design original scenarios for Oak & Iron. The goal of the contest was to help bring fresh ideas, mechanics, and some new thematic opportunities to play the game we love. We received 14 entries, with a wide range of goals, objectives, and styles. From historical engagements to cinematic supernatural curses to daring rescues, the submissions showed a range of imagination.

Winner: Oak & Iron Scenario Design Contest
If you missed the previous announcement on social media, we selected a winner on August 8th. Rather than force difficult judging or discourage people from the need for perfection, we opted to select a winner at random. This was meant to encourage participation and keep the spirit of the contest lighthearted.
🎉 Congratulations to Erich Goebel, whose scenario “Heart of the Sea” was drawn as the winner! Erich will receive a set of premium Oak & Iron dice provided by Baron of Dice. These dice are a stylish upgrade for any fleet commander. Erich selected a set of the French themed dice.
