ADEPTICON Gaming Convention

AdeptiCon has grown consistently over the past nineteen years, from the humble 110-person event in 2003, to the amazing 6,500 attendees AdeptiCon hosted in 2019. Over the years, AdeptiCon has been held at five different venues. It has expanded from a handful of events to well over 650 tournaments, event games, and hobby seminars covering all aspects of the miniature war gaming hobby. This year the gaming convention will be held near Chicago, IL.

What to Expect This Year

Firelock Games will be in attendance. TimberAndSail.com and BloodAndPigment.com are teaming up with Firelock Games and their team of Quartermasters to run a full compliment of miniature wargames for both the Oak & Iron and Blood & Plunder game system. We’ve put together a list of the games being run at the event below

“Plunder on the High Seas!”

THURSDAY, MARCH 23, 2023 AT 9 AM – 11AM

A Dutch trading fleet was caught in a torrential storm and rumors that multiple have ships have been dashed on the rocks or run aground in the nearby shoals have spread like wildfire. Crews from around the region have set out to be the first to recover what cargo may still lie above the water’s surface. Form up your fleet and seek the prize. All players should build a 100pt force. 4 players per table and multiple tables available.

Oak & Iron Demos & Open Play

Learn to play in a demo or experienced players can meet up to play a pickup game in the best naval combat miniatures game set in the Golden Age of Piracy!

Firelock Games, BloodandPigment.com, and TimberAndSail.com are teaming up to host a good time on the seas. Walk-ups and new players welcome (loaner forces available).

Seige of Nassau

FRIDAY, MARCH 24, 2023 AT 9 AM – 11 AM

Play a historical “what-if” scenario of Charles Vane fighting Governor Woodes Rogers in the ports of Nassau. What if Charles Vane had not decided to run, but instead decided to fight and attempt to bloody Woodes Rogers’ nose a bit on the way out of the Nassau harbor. Force details will be provided (pre-reg for more info). 4 players per table and multiple tables available.

SATURDAY, MARCH 25, 2023 AT 6 PM – 10 PM

Official FIRELOCK GAMES Oak & Iron Tournament. 75 pts for any faction. 2-6 ships, no Ships of the Line. Swiss format. 3 rounds 24 Players max. Prizes awarded. Tournament Rules Packet PDF.

Blood & Plunder Demos & Open Play

Learn to play in a demo or experienced players can meet up to play a pickup game in the best 28mm historical Pirate skirmish game on the planet!

“Blood in the Water” Sea Battle Scenario

THURSDAY, MARCH 23, 2023 AT 6 PM – 10 PM

Pirate fleet assemble! A Spanish payroll galleon has been sighted with a weak escort! A successful attack will mean Spanish gold for all.

Firelock Games, BloodandPigment.com, and TimberAndSail.com are teaming up to host a large multiplayer Blood & Plunder sea battle open to all. New player friendly. Bring a 100-200 point sea force if possible. Spanish/French forces vs Pirate/English/Dutch with Natives on either side. 6-10 players. Multiple tables available.

Blood & Plunder SEA Tournament

FRIDAY, MARCH 24, 2023 AT 5 PM – 10 PM

Official FIRELOCK GAMES Blood & Plunder Sea Tournament. 200 pts any faction, any ships. Swiss format. 3 rounds 24 Players max. Prizes awarded.

“Plunder on the Sand” Amphibious Battle

Summer hurricanes have destroyed the Spanish treasure fleet and scattered 7 million pieces of eight along the Florida coast. Spanish salvage crews and English privateers rush to claim an easy prize. Large, multiplayer Blood & Plunder game open to all. Amphibious scenario with Spanish & allies defending treasure on a coastline while English & allies attack from the sea in ships and boats. 6 players per table, multiple tables available.
